Garry Carson Jones -
Garry began his music career at the age of ten and wrote his first song at the age of fourteen. He is an accomplished musician and singer/songwriter and has accumulated a vast repertoire of original and cover songs.
Garry resides in the Bega Valley on the beautiful Sapphire Coast of NSW. He originates from the Monaro Region, born in a small country town called Delegate (pop. 700), where he was raised within an immediate and extended family of avid musicians.
In 2001 Garry was outright winner of the Merimbula Country Music Talent Quest winning both singer/songwriter and recorded songwriter sections. During 2003 he made the pilgrimage to Tamworth, buoyed by his local success, and entered the Tamworth Songwriters’ Assoc. Tiara Awards, and was rewarded with a berth amongst the finalists. That same year Garry was a finalist in the Steel City Champion of Champions in Newcastle and came third in the National Champion of Champions showcase in Canberra. In 2005 he again entered the Tamworth Songwriters’ Assoc. songwriting contest and again was reward with two songs amongst the finalists.
Garry has backed well know legends such as Normie Rowe, Leo Sayer, Sharon O'Neil, John Paul Young and he currently performs with Frankie J Holden in their band "The Stumbling Wilburys".
Over the years Garry has performed in bands such as "Hot Ice" & "Chill"(well known rock bands on the south coast), and currently perform in bands such as, "The Poddydodgers", "The Stumbling Wilburys" and "Mojo".
“The Poddydodgers” released a country rock album called “Spirited” featuring fifteen original songs all written by Garry. With “Jack Frost” getting airplay on CMC.
Garry also released an acoustic album “Atonement” featuring 13 heart felt original songs. Both albums are available on iTunes & cdbaby.
His band "Mojo" released an Ep called "Sunrise" with six originals and one cover.
Garry has just finished recording his latest album "Mogareeka Moon" featuring a combination of many different aspects of his musical versatility. This album has ten original songs recorded at "Rolling Wheels Studio" in Orange.
Garry also performs in a couple of duos. One with his brother Shayne, called "Jones Brothers Duo", and the other with Frankie J Holden.
Jones Brothers Duo -
The Jones Brother's Duo are based in the South Eastern New South Wales and have established a firm following as a great acoustic duo. The outfit puts a unique slant on the country/rock genre due to varied musical influences of the band members. Their repertoire is a mixture of covers & originals covering all genres from country to rock.
